Das neue Album von Shinedown wird „EI8HT“ heißen und am 29. Mai bei Atlantic Records erscheinen. Vorab erschien der Song „Safe and Sound“. Außerdem hat die Band für Herbst eine Europa-Tour angekündigt.
„This album is over a year in the making“, erzählt Sänger Brent Smith und erinnert sich an die intensive Zusammenarbeit mit seinem langjährigen Bandkollegen und zugleich Produzenten Eric Bass: „Without question as a band we pushed ourselves like never before. Especially when it comes to Eric. Myself, Zach and Barry are so honored to create and work with such an extraordinary producer, engineer, mixer, songwriter, musician, performer and band mate. We are so excited to finally announce our 8th Studio Album titled EI8HT alongside our Dance Kid Dance Act II World Tour.“
Zum neuen Song „Safe and Sound“ fügt Smith hinzu: „Safe and sound ist about reminding the competition what they are dealing with one by one.“

Zusätzlich zur Tour werden Shinedown im Oktober ihr erstes eigenes, selbst kuratiertes Festival-Event veranstalten: Das Lunatic Ball Beach Weekend findet von 23. bis 25. Oktober 2026 in Miramar Beach, FL statt. Bei dem dreitägigen Event werden neben Shinedown unter anderem auch Bush, Hanson, Flyleaf, Living Colour, From Ashes to New, Guardians of the Jukebox, Neon Mooners und weitere auftreten.
Erst kürzlich sorgte die Band für einen denkwürdigen Moment mit ihrer Single „Searchlight“, in dem sie ihn bei ihrem Grand Ole Opry – Debüt performten. „Sometimes when you listen close enough to the universe and you are willing to receive something from it – a song can come out of thin air. We did not find this one, it found us,“ meinte Smith damals zum Publikum. Die Performance geriet zu einem der meistdiskutierten Momente des Abends. Der Song zeigt Shinedown von ihrer expansivsten Seite, indem sie Rock mit Americana, Rhythm and Blues, Bluegrass und Outlaw-Country Einflüssen paaren, ohne ihre stilprägende, hymnische Kraft zu verlieren.
