Mumford & Sons veröffentlichen ihr sechstes Studioalbum „Prizefighter“ via Island Records. Das Album wurde gemeinsam mit The Nationals Aaron Dessner in dessen Long Pond Studio geschrieben und produziert.
„Prizefighter“ folgt auf das 2025 veröffentlichte Album „Rushmere“, das in Großbritannien auf Platz 1 der Albumcharts einstieg (Platz 5 in Deutschland). Das neue Album zeigt die Band von ihrer bisher offensten und instinktivsten Seite – eine Liedersammlung, die sich sehr persönlich anfühlt. Marcus Mumfords Texte beschäftigen sich mit Resistenz und Strebsamkeit und sind geprägt von einer Mischung aus Selbstvertrauen und Dringlichkeit.
Marcus Mumford erzählt: „We feel like we are hitting our prime as a creative force. We are putting everything we have into this now, and we are using everything about our experience so far to embrace exactly who we are. We are comfortable in our skins these days. And „Prizefighter“ is us going for it – serious and playful, sometimes bruised and always hopeful. We are nowhere near done yet. I hope and believe and we’re in the beginning of something we don`t want to let up on. I am more excited to be in this band than I have ever been.“
Am 09. Juli werden Mumford & Sons ein Open-Air-Konzert auf der Berliner Waldbühne spielen.
